Blogtober Day 1: Review- Maybelline Baby Lips

Hey guys,
So today is very exciting as it's the start of my Blogtober series, where I try to blog every single week day of October, in order to really get a kick start on blog and give me a bit of motivation! Some posts will be shorter than others, some will be very photo-heavy, some will be very chatty, but I really want to be proud of my blogging this month!
So, to start off I will be reviewing my Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch!

When I found out that the Baby Lips were coming out in the UK, I was embarrassingly excited haha! As I'm an avid Teen Vogue reader, I realise that these have been out for quite a while in the US, and have heard and seen all the hype around them!
I picked this up in Boots a few weeks ago, as I thought it looked really pretty and the thought of a tinted lip balm intrigued me (I also could just picture it being Instagrammed... not that many people admit this, but it always sort of goes through your mind as you're making purchases like this!)

Now to the actual review part... I have mixed feelings about this product; as a sheer lipstick I think it's great, pretty colour, handbag size etc., however as a hydrating lip balm, which it's primarily meant to be, I don't really rate it.
The name of the product is "Baby Lips", implying that it's meant to make your lips softer and more healthy (like a baby's... hence the name, Molly!), so, even though I didn't choose "Hydrate", I was sort of expecting it to be nourishing on my lips... how wrong I was. When you first apply this it feels almost greasy in texture, sliding around your lips, and then after a while it is extremely drying, making your lips sore and un-protected. *Sad face*

However, there are two amazing things about this product, firstly the amazing colour pay-off...
And secondly the amount of product you get...
Which is a lot to be fair!

I had really high expectations of this products, mainly due to all the instagram hype, and it didn't really live up them, however I do apply this over my trusty Vaseline lip therapy with Cocoa Butter for a subtle pop of colour!

Have a great day, see you tomorrow for my Beauty Secrets under £2!
